Hi all, I have a really busy weekend coming up, and am heading off to my Pa’s house in Kent tommorow morning as he is hosting E.T’s first birthday party on Saturday. BBQ and Pirates! I cant wait!
I have just stumbled upon a delicious blog called Home. Jackie, (who I cannot believe is nearly 60 as she is a total babe!) has real taste, but with that quirky edge that I love.
I wanted to share some pis that she has recently posted on her blog. They are from Country Living’s Rachel Ashwell interview. THE Queen of Shabby Chic and the woman who really started the whole movement.
I feel this look will be eternally desirable.
Where the hell did she get those Glass Eiffel Tower Bottles and who do I have to sleep with to get some?????
This chandelier is banana’s. I would happily sacrifice a limb to posses it!
I wonder if I could make something like it?……

Hi Sadie,
Well, thank you so much for the lovely post. I am truly flattered….although, not sure that I want to be reminded that I’m nearly 60 !!!! haha. I’m trying to forget about that !!
I still LOVE shabby chic and I am always distressing bits of furniture. That and the wonderful Scandanavian look is my favourite. Your blog looks beautiful and, I will be back for more. Lots of love. XXXX

Love the blog some fantastic sourcing & design ideas and some great images.
For home grown hardcore shabby chic we recommend using a recommending using lots of paint layers, a heavy hand with the sander and some dark wax (affectionately known as ‘dirty wax’)
Thanks for the Blogroll link will put a reciprocal link on ours too.
Great stuff!

Would I be bragging if I told you I had one of those Eiffel Tower bottles!
I spotted it in a charity shop and informed my mum that if I didn’t find it under the Christmas tree I would never speak to her again!

No not at all! I love to hear about other peoples finds! Plus I actually managed to find one myself last week at the car boot. I nearly broke the woman’s arm off to get it! I’m so happy with it! Would you send me a picture of your one as I am compiling a post about them at the moment.
